Our breath is the guiding force of life here on earth – we can go days without water, weeks without food, but no more than a few minutes without taking a breath.
Yet besides being essential for our bare survival, our breath, or more specifically conscious breathing, also holds great potential for improving our overall health and wellbeing – physically, mentally and emotionally.
Every breath we take directly impacts the state of our nervous system, the pH level of our blood, the level of inflammation in the body, the quality of our thoughts, the activity of our immune system…to only mention a few.
Sounds impressive – but this also means that by consciously working with our breath, we can – mostly in only a few sessions – greatly improve things such as our stress levels, our ability to focus, athletic performance, parameters such as HRV or RHR – and release tension and trauma from our emotional and physical body.
I guide personalised 1-on-1 breathwork sessions that focus fully on the individual goals and desired outcomes of my clients. When appropriate and helpful, I also include elements of gentle bodywork into my sessions to open up the muscular of fascial tissue to allow for better function and optimised breathing. Expect to be given some homework at the end of your session to continue your practice at home for long-term results.
I am a certified Level 3 Breathwork Coach at Breathwork Masterclass, and have extensive experience in guiding people with breathwork both in individual as well as group settings. Given my work as a birth doula, I specialise in helping women prepare for birth with breath as a tool.
